BRIEF

We evision a botanic sharing platform and socialing channel established by IOT technology and big data network.

The platform is based on public green space leading citizens to construct a green eco-network.

CITY GREENING

BACKGROUND

As we all know, Chinese urban green area is far below the international level. The existing urban greening effort has not achieved the desired result along with serious urban heat island effect, which results in a poor living environment.

We hope to propose a new way of greening, which can encourage residents to participate in urban greening, and to solve this problem to some extent.

This city greening design based Changsha.

To figure out the main problems of greening in Changsha,

we did both Desktop Research and Field Research of urban greening in this city firstly.

From Field Research:

From interviewing residents in Field Research,

we found Main problems and needs of people about plants:

  • Lack of green space in the city

  • Community green space is not properly used

  • Lack of time to look after the plants at home

  • Lack of planting knowledge

We also interviewed gardening companies in Field Research,

to find out the Existing Model of city greening

Problems of Existing Model:

  • Require a large amount of resources to maintain plants.

  • Flower companies prefer to sell plants rather than rent out plants.

  • Lack of public participation does not give people a sense of belonging.

Finally we got the main problems and reasons:

  • Low Residents Participation of City Greening

    reasons:No Educational Practice/Lack of Time/Age and Physical condition/Lack of space

  • Current Operational Model

    reasons:Different Profit Model of Government,Company,and Residents/Lack of Supervision and Maintenance

  • High Cost

    reasons:Cost of Maintenance,Construction and Material Transporting

  • Green Space Planning

    reasons:Lack of Space/Failure to Improving the Environment/No Local Characteristics

4.TOUCHPOINTS DESIGN

There are 3 main Touchpoints customers would meet in Green+ :

  • Green Lab

  • Green pot

  • Green+ APP

 

Green Lab is A City Based Platfrom for Green Sharing and Joint Development,

where citizens can donate and get a plant and enjoy the green space as well.

Green Pot is a Smart Flower Pot our system provide for citizens.

Wireless charing and Electromagnetic lock make sure the pot safe and keeps working.

Code appears after filling soil, then people can scan it and take it away.

The smart pot helps to care plants by showing the condition of environment and plants (sunlight, water, health).

There is also a APP for citizens to adopt,donate and foster a plant.

Every plants in the nearest green lab would show on the app, which makes citizens to choose a plant conveniently.
